Muammar Gaddafi was an autocratic ruler of Libya from 1969 to 2011. He abolished the Lybian Constitusion of 1951 and replaced them with laws of his own ideology, which is Third International Theory. After seizing power, Gaddafi eliminated any opposition and severely restricted lives of ordinary Libyans. His rule is the reason of 2011 Libyan revolution.
